La Strada (The Road) is a 1954 Italian drama film directed by Federico Fellini from his own screenplay co-written with Tullio Pinelli and Ennio Flaiano. Massimo Venturiello and Tosca face as a director and performers Fellini’s La Strada and the inevitable confrontation with Gelsomina and Zampano (Anthony Quinn and Giulietta Masina).
Zampano is a rough acrobat who wanders through the poorest countries of Italy still rural and naive of the fifties, performing in unlikely feats of strength. With him is Gelsomina who replaces her sister, who died suddenly.
